Wimbledon Semi Finals Reflection
Just got back after Wimbledon today
2 great matches!!
First match – Federer looking ominously back to his best ever. It’s funny what a difference a month can make!!
Second match – Andy Roddick plays a match like I never thought he could play!!
Great control and consistency and of course serving – dare I say, the complete package.
Andy Murray played some inspired shots at times but just couldn’t get at Roddicks serve enough.
Yet another example of winning tennis matches not just being about technique, it was the execution of a great game plan that won the day for A Rod and should make for a great final.
I still think Federer has too much “in the locker” though!!
What do you think??
How can Roddick beat Federer?
Don’t forget, if you haven’t got your hands on my Playing On Grass Court Report yet, then you can grab it…….

Only way Roddick can beat Fed is to hit him on the back of the head with his racquet at the first change of ends!
I hope you are not encouraging violence??
I give Roddick a legitimate shot
Even if Federer does win,
Andy will have his chances to break or win a tiebreaker.
Since Fed’s form has been fantastic, I expect him to win in a close battle.

Good points!! Don’t think it will be close though!!
i will pray for andy to at lese get a decent score
I’m sure he is playing for more than that!
Roddick is certainly playing a lot smarter this year, and the old deficiencies in his game he has attempted to patch up, and he is also a lot fitter.
Could be interesting if the A-Rod’s serve is on.
The only problem I foresee is that, unfortunately for Roddick, The Fed is playing almost the best he has played ever AND he is as confident as he is ever likely to be.
Exactly!! The Feds present form is possibly better than anyone ever!!
I think the only way Andy can win is if he holds on to his serve with dear life and serve his way to winning the tie-breaks. He has to put his first serve in 75% of the time to win the title.
Fed will win again this year. Andy’s rally balls land too short, and sit up, his volleys are not consistently crisp and Fed has shown that he can handle a serve and wait for the right moment when he played Karlovic.
Wow Roddick was THIS close to winning his first ever Wimbledon title…i feel sorry for that guy…didnt lose a serving game until the last game of the match. Actually…i dont feel THAT sorry for him…i mean, he DOES make like $4 million more than me xD
Yes very close!!
Just tired a fraction, concentration dipped and BANG – he’s outta there!!
Lots of credit due though for Roddick, if he can play like this not many can beat him!!
He put himself back in the mix again after many years..
All hail King Roger though…unreal serving AND it had to be!
Wow…my prediction was spot on.
When Andy’s serve is on he can beat anyone.
. His groundstrokes are under-rated too, considering he really hung in there in the rallies.
Considering that if you can hold serve every time during a match then you win
Picked Andy in the 5th set b/c Fed never broke, Andy was able to break 2 times b4. Fed was able to get the break after staying mentally composed during two break points. That last game was won by a little bit of luck, phenominal returns and a small slip in Andy’s 1st serve %.
Fitness on both ends was superb, they were equals in that regard. Fed was still able to hit 130mph serves late in 5th! (not in though). Andy was still running down Fed’s shots with everything that he had late in the 5th.
Great match, could go on and on about it but I’ll stop
